My little sister, Jennifer, died by suicide in May 2022 at the age of 21. For my Senior Project at George Mason University, I took the opportunity to properly honor both her memory and my emotional journey. Over the course of the semester, I illustrated, designed, and taught myself how to build and bind a pop-up book from scratch. Each spread of this pop-up book tackles my experience with the five stages of grief—denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. I hope that my vulnerability can make the conversation about suicide easier, as well as remind you that you are not alone.
